The Gióng Rocking Horse is built from 32 strips of oak and walnut. Each strip is laid with its grain running against the next one, which keeps the long curve stable. The stripes come from that construction.

The horse is shaped entirely by hand and finished with Osmo hardwax oil. One horse takes about 60 hours of work by two woodworkers.

The first prototype did not rock properly. Vinh reworked the curve and the motion until it did.
